Celebrate 75 Years: Make a Gift to Help Students Learn for the Jobs of Tomorrow

SUNY Orange – Orange County Community College has been educating the Orange County workforce for almost 75 years. Our students are tough, tenacious, hard-working and resilient – and they are the people who make Orange County companies so successful.

SUNY Orange students need to learn in an environment that will continue to prepare them for the creative, thoughtful, tech-savvy jobs of tomorrow. The College aims to transform traditional classrooms and study rooms into inspiring spaces that promote student motivation, collaboration, and academic success – and your gift can help!

This milestone anniversary is the perfect moment to invest in the future of our college and its students. Your donation will directly support students by:

  • Providing them with a more modern and comfortable learning environment.

  • Purchasing new technology that will allow for more inclusive teaching methods and help students learn and study more effectively.

  • Creating a welcoming atmosphere that supports diversity and inclusion.

  • Strengthening ties with community organizations to expand opportunities for students.

  • Encouraging collaboration among faculty, staff, and students to build a strong campus community.

Fundraising Progress

Thanks to several initial gifts totaling almost $225K, we are well on our way to our fundraising goal of $400K. Another $25K will help us to upgrade another classroom! Won’t you help us meet our goal?

Transforming Lives for 75 Years

SUNY Orange President Dr. Kristine Young says it best:

“What a special privilege that we have here in 2025 to shine a light on the wisdom, foresight and commitment that our community leaders had in the late 1940s to embrace a new educational approach: the community college. They wanted to bring education to Orange County, and they did it, aided by the wonderful generosity of Christine Morrison who donated her estate to make it happen. In their wildest dreams, I wonder if they thought we’d be here nearly 75 years later carrying the torch that they lit.”
